Weekend recap

Cutest little boy that I ever did see :)
Happy Labor Day! Not like it really means much in the world of a SAHM (why don't I get the day off?!), but nonetheless a day where my husband doesn't have to go into the office (even though he just left to go in for a few hours) is a day that I can seriously get down on. This weekend was relaxing and not filled with anything crazy. Lots of walks, a lunch outing, and Nick and Silas wrestling which apparently is what I need to do for 3 hours in the morning in order for him to pass out in 5 minutes at nap time. Baby #2 is moving around like crazy and I am losing my mind over wondering what the sex is. I can't stop thinking about seeing this little nugget on Wednesday. Thinking a little gender reveal deali-o should go down...;)

Father's Day DIY

If you're a last minute gift giver, or just want to kill some time on Father's Day then this little DIY is perfect. Homemade pomade! Once, Nick sent me to the store to grab some for him and I was blown away by how pricey this crap was. $20! No way. So we found a recipe and decided to make a jar for a fraction of the cost and none of the disgusting chemicals.

Ingredients

- quality beeswax (can be found at health food stores, online, or sometimes your local grocer)
- coconut oil
- a few drops of either avocado oil, jojoba oil, or olive oil
- essential oil if you like (although, beeswax smells amazing and we did without)

Directions

Grate your beeswax using a cheese grater. Set up a double boiler using a metal bowl. Load in your beeswax and let melt. Add it coconut oil. The ratio is 1:1. Our melted beeswax looked to be about 4 tablespoons so we added 4 tablespoons of coconut oil. Add a couple drops of your choice of "other" oil and a few drops of your essential oil. whisk together and then pour into a heat proof jar or tin. Do not use plastic as the mixture is really hot and could potentially melt it. Cool at room temp or in the fridge. Tada! Homemade pomade for your man (and you!).

Happy -day after- Halloween!

Silas is too young to participate in the Halloween festivities this year (he was in bed by 6pm!), but us adults decided to have a little fun with a porch stoop party. We drank some festive beers and had some snacks all while waiting for the trick-or-treaters that NEVER showed up. Seriously. I think we had about 10? What's wrong with kids these days?! I spent an arm and a leg on candy too. So that means I just popped a mini twix while drinking my earl grey tea...i'm disgusting people. Here are a few photos from last night!

My sisters pumpkin is obviously the good one...I was not blessed with the artistic gene. She did it free hand!

Beer and snacks are a must while waiting for trick-or-treaters. Nick felt the beer was inappropriate. I told him to relax...it's required.

Felt mask for the win. We look insane, but seriously we were having so much fun acting like idiots.

Just to prove that I can actually dress in a good costume for Halloween, this is me and Nick about 2 yrs ago at a Halloween party.

Left over candy and Earl Grey tea. Breakfast of champions!

Happy Nov. 1st! Now who's ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas?! xo
